Review For "Vidyaamuyarchi" Movie
Tamil action thriller "Vidaamuarchee" releasing in 2025 is directed by Magiz Thirumenee starring Ajit Kumar, Arjun Saraja and Trisha Krishnan in lead roles. Inspired by the 1997 American film "Brekadown", the film is set in the Azadi bhavna environment of Azadijaan, depicting the painful journey of a man who is determined to save his missing wife from a mysterious organization.
Performance
Ajit Kumar gives a commendable performance as Arjun, playing the role of a man who is unaware of his wife's sudden disappearance. His painful behaviour effectively expresses the character's pain and determination. Trisha Krishnan as Kayal is brilliant in her limited screen time, especially in the first half. However, her absence in the latter half of the film leaves a notable void. Arjun Saraja and Rejina Kasandra have acted well, though their characters could have been made better.
Direction and technical aspects
Director Mangeez Thirumenee has tried to tell a story in which the emphasis is more on the subject matter than on the style. However, the pace of the film is uneven, in which the first part creates tension effectively, while the second part seems dull and unpredictable. The action sequences are earthy and natural, but they cannot satisfy the viewers who want high-octane thrills. Cinematographer Om Prakash has beautifully captured the scenery of the azarabaazi, which adds a unique scene to the film. Aniruddh Ravichander's background score completes the story, but there are few stained scenes that enhance the viewing experience.

Critical Reception
The film has received mixed reviews. Times of India has described it as "a dull journey for Ajit and his admirers", citing the low and weak storyline of the staindout films. In contrast, The New Indian Express has praised the film's subject matter depth which highlights its focus on the necessary difficulty to keep human bonds intact rather than traditional drama. India Today has acknowledged the technical skill of the film and praised Ajit Kumar's acting, but has pointed out that it is not just dependent on star power.
Conclusion
"Vidamuyarchee" presents a different perspective on the genre of action thriller, which is centered on the inner conflict and immense belief of the hero. While the film has a good performance by the Damadar and impressive scenes, its pacing related problems and unpredictable story may not be liked by all the viewers. Still, it offers a refreshing change from the traditional star-driven cinema, providing a platform for Ajit Kumar to showcase a more sober and subtle side of his acting.
